Objectives
Deliver a secure web portal for managing helicopter course content and user access for Airbus trainees.

Challenges
Airbus Helicopters faced the complex challenge of securely managing and distributing digital training materials to technicians and personnel enrolled in specialized courses. These materials, ranging from detailed manuals to interactive content, needed to be delivered only to authorized individuals and devices. Additionally, administrators required robust controls over enrollment, user roles, and content updates, all while ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience.
Prior to this solution, Airbus relied on fragmented workflows for class administration and content distribution. Managing courses, assigning users, and distributing course material across platforms lacked cohesion. Ensuring content version integrity and device-specific access restrictions became increasingly difficult as training demands scaled. Moreover, the absence of centralized visibility into student-course interactions hindered operational efficiency and compliance tracking.
The security dimension added another layer of complexity. Airbus needed to guarantee that sensitive technical documents were not only accessible by authorized users but also bound to specific devices. This level of digital rights management required a secure, scalable backend and a robust frontend that could integrate with Android-based apps used in training environments.

Solutions
Krasamo designed and developed a comprehensive web-based admin portal tailored to Airbus’s training delivery needs. The portal was built using Java, JAX-RS, and GWT-RPC, enabling fine-grained management of users, class enrollment, and hierarchical content. By introducing version control for manuals and chapters, the system ensured consistent, up-to-date material distribution across all training sessions.
To support mobile access, the team implemented Java-based JAX-RS RESTful web services that allowed the Android app to authenticate users, retrieve assigned courses, and securely download relevant content. User authentication was tightly coupled with device verification to prevent unauthorized access or content duplication.
A PostgreSQL database was designed to serve as the system’s backbone, modeling complex relationships between users, courses, and content versions. The system’s flexibility allows Airbus to scale course offerings while maintaining robust control over content and user roles.
The result was a sophisticated, end-to-end content delivery ecosystem that empowered Airbus to modernize its training approach, reduce reliance on paper materials, and deliver a flexible learning experience tailored to each pilot’s needs.
