Challenges
Before the implementation of the iOS mobile application, the client faced significant inefficiencies in their equipment inspection process. Field inspectors relied heavily on manual procedures, which often led to inconsistent reporting, delayed data entry, and operational bottlenecks. The lack of a centralized, digital solution made it difficult to track inspections accurately, especially in fast-paced, high-volume environments like on-site auctions.
The existing tools did not offer support for the variety of equipment handled by the company. With hundreds of unique equipment types requiring specialized inspection criteria, the absence of dynamic checklist functionality created further complexity and reduced the reliability of collected data. Additionally, connectivity issues in remote auction locations frequently disrupted data flow, delaying key business decisions.
There was also a pressing need for integration between the field application and internal systems. The inability to synchronize inspection data automatically with back-end services hampered real-time decision-making and added a manual burden to the staff. The client’s legacy systems could not accommodate the scale or speed required by their expanding operations.

Solutions
To address these challenges, Krasamo developed a custom iOS mobile application, iInspector, designed specifically for on-site and remote equipment inspections. The app featured a dynamic checklist engine capable of supporting hundreds of unique equipment types, ensuring that inspectors could quickly access relevant criteria for each unit. The app also provides ability to capture media and integrates it with the inspection data.
The user interface was optimized for speed and clarity, enabling inspectors to perform and save equipment inspections efficiently. The app also included offline mode support, allowing field teams to continue working uninterrupted even in areas without cellular coverage. Once a network connection was detected, inspection data was automatically synced with the server, eliminating the need for manual uploads and ensuring data consistency.
On the technical side, the mobile solution was seamlessly integrated with multiple web service providers through RESTful APIs. These endpoints enabled the real-time retrieval of dynamically generated checklists and facilitated the secure upload of inspection data. Inspection records were stored in the apps sandbox, providing a smooth user experience without dependency on constant internet access.
