The client, a leader in smart fireplace solutions, wanted to expand its product capabilities by allowing homeowners to control their fireplaces through Google Home.

The existing platform did not support the connection required between fireplace devices and Google accounts. The solution needed to provide secure account linking, reliable command execution, and accurate device information.

Users needed to be able to turn fireplaces on or off, adjust the temperature, and view the current device status through voice commands or the Google Home application.

It was also important to ensure that fireplace information remained consistent across the device, the client’s platform, and Google Home, including homes with multiple fireplaces in different locations.

Krasamo designed and implemented an integration between the client’s fireplace platform and Google Home.

A secure account-linking process was added so users could connect their fireplaces to their Google accounts while protecting personal and device information.

The integration enabled homeowners to control supported fireplace functions through voice commands and the Google Home application.

Device information was synchronized across Google Home and the client’s platform, including accounts with multiple fireplaces in different locations. This ensured that commands issued by voice or through the application were reflected accurately and confirmed in near real time.

The solution provided homeowners with a convenient hands-free experience and made the fireplaces a seamless part of the connected home.

The integration also increased product appeal, expanded the client’s smart-home capabilities, and created opportunities for additional connected features.
